Message From The Owner

"Hello, my name is Richard Meier, and I am the owner of R. Meier Construction, a family-owned and operated business. I began my career in construction right after high school, working for a roofing company and later for a pool company. I then transitioned to working on a production rig in the oil field, where I gained valuable experience as a laborer.

During my journey, I had the opportunity to work with Mel Krogh Construction and Engineers. Mel Krough taught me how to operate equipment and lay pipes, which furthered my skill set. It was through Mel that I also met Randy Davis of R Davis Construction. I spent over 18 years working with Randy, and during that time, I expanded my knowledge in various areas. This included operating equipment, driving trucks, moving equipment, and installing pipes. I gained experience in tasks ranging from installing new water mains and sewer services to working on main sewers, laterals, house pads, footings, septic systems, concrete demolition, drafting, and even fire hydrants. However, as life often goes, circumstances led me to move on.

After my time with Randy Davis Construction, I worked for J L Stanton, a gas company subcontractor, for 2 years. Following that, I joined Don Marshall at Comar Construction for 2 and a half years. Throughout my career, I held the position of Foreman at nearly every place I worked. This role involved collaborating with owners, developers, and learning to read plans, lay out jobs, manage costs, create timelines, oversee production, run job sites, manage crews, work with subcontractors, interact with inspectors, coordinate with superintendents, municipalities, and homeowners.

Then, one day, I decided to take the leap and start my own business. I purchased a backhoe, dump truck, and equipment trailer, and I began taking on side jobs. Slowly, I built a small customer base. Meanwhile, I diligently prepared for my contractor's test. On June 18th, 2007, I obtained my contractor's license and officially founded R. Meier Construction."
